Membership Fees

The work of the Federation is supported through annual membership fees and work dues.

Membership Fees

The rate of membership fees is determined by a vote of the membership.  A portion of these fees (called per capita dues) is sent by the local to the international office to support their activities.

Local 80's membership fees are $90 per year if paid in January or $25 per quarter.  Members who have not paid three months after the expiration date are suspended.  Members who have not paid six months after the expiration date are expelled.

Work Dues

Many Federation locals collect a small percentage of the basic wage scale of money paid to members for engagements they play.  Since the more you work, the more you are likely to need AFM services, this is the fairest system for funding both the Federation and locals.

Work dues are payable by the 15th of the month following the month in which the engagement took place.  Local 80's work dues rate on regular engagements is 4% (3 1/2% under a Local 80 collective bargaining agreement with a dues check-off provision).
